We are establishing another Drop-Off Centre at the Matarangi Refuse Transfer Station where local residents can drop-off reusable, recoverable and recyclable goods. This is a joint collaboration between The Thames Coromandel District Council, Waste Management NZ and ourselves to divert reusable and recyclable products from going to landfill. Products will be taken to Thames to be processed and either sold or recycled, with proceeds going to fund this operation and other community initiatives.

We are looking for staff for this Drop-Off facility - 1 to 2 staff members in part-time roles.

The operating hours will be :

  • Off Peak - Saturdays and Sundays 8.30am to 4.00pm

  • Peak - Thursdays – Mondays from 8.30am to 4.00pm (mid- December to mid-February)

The job will entail engaging with the public, determining what items can be accepted, sorting and packing and loading these items. Working in collaboration with Waste Management staff on site and Seagull Centre staff, the role is a sole charge role with support and training provided by Seagull Centre.
