The Trustees of the Seagull Centre are seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Supervisor to join our team in Thames.

Over the past 20 years, the Seagull Centre has grown to become one of New Zealand’s leading Resource Recovery Centres, making a significant contribution to our local community and economy. We have experienced considerable growth over the past five years, and we are continuing to expand our operations. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be part of a growing organisation that is making a real difference in resource recovery, reuse and the circular economy.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor who can work effectively across a diverse range of operational activities and provide strong leadership to our team.

The successful applicant will be a self-starter who is organised, practical and solutions-focused, with the ability to take responsibility and get things done.

You will need to:

• Provide effective leadership and support to our operational team

• Communicate confidently with a wide range of people

• Have strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Be able to work across a variety of operational areas

• Have a good understanding of Health and Safety systems and practices

• Be reliable, organised and able to work independently

• Demonstrate a positive, hands-on approach to the role

Experience in the resource recovery, recycling or waste management sector would be an advantage, as would a good understanding of the circular economy.

Hours

The position is for a minimum of four days per week, with weekend work required.
