The Trustees of the Seagull Centre are in search of an Online Sales Co-Ordinator to join our team in Thames.
The Seagull Centre is a highly successful Community Resource Recovery Centre based in Thames. We have developed an expanding online sales operation and have an opening for a full-time role (30 hours/week)
This is a highly specialised, high-responsibility role that builds on the platform developed over the past 5 years. The core function of the role is to identify, research, prepare, list, sell, and manage donated goods in a way that maximises the outcome for the Seagull Centre while also contributing to in-store pricing and overall operational efficiency of the Centre.
We are seeking a highly motivated and fast learning person to join our team in this role. This is not just about sorting donations and listing the products online. It requires a unique combination of commercial awareness, research ability, organization, technical skills, and strong judgement. The results we achieve are not accidental and are not based on “having a good eye” alone. They come from consistent, informed decision-making, trial and error, and a willingness to challenge assumptions.
The role requires a highly organised, detail-oriented person that can co-ordinate several activities in a highly dynamic and fast-moving environment. The ideal candidate will be proficient and comfortable in a number of computer and digital platforms and be willing to learn and acquire new skills.
You will be working as part of a highly effective team while have individual responsibility for the online sales platforms. The role is highly flexible and accommodations can be made for the right individual.

We currently have a Resource Recovery Centre in Thames with Drop-Off Centres in Tairua and Pauanui. We are a charitable trust with proceeds from our operations going back into the community.

Treasurer Wanted – Seagull Centre Trust (Thames)
The Seagull Centre Trust is seeking a committed and community-minded Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees.
The Seagull Centre is a well-established Community Resource Recovery Centre based in Thames, dedicated to reducing waste, supporting sustainability, and giving back to our local community.
About the role:
As Treasurer, you will play a key role in overseeing the financial health of the Trust. Working alongside fellow Trustees and management, you’ll help ensure strong financial governance and support informed decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing financial oversight and guidance to the Trust
• Reviewing financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
• Supporting financial planning and strategy
• Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations
• Liaising with staff and external accountants as required
We’re looking for someone who:
• Has financial experience (accounting, bookkeeping, or similar)
• Is detail-oriented and trustworthy
• Has good communication skills
• Is passionate about community, sustainability, and making a difference
• Governance or Trustee experience is a bonus, but not essential

Time commitment: Monthly Board meetings + occasional support as needed
